Makes building of .ddf files for makecab.exe easier
The MakeDDF application was designed to make building of .ddf files for makecab.exe easier. It's main target audience is for Sharepoint Developers who need to create .wsp Files, which are just CAB files with a different extension.
It will check a given directory and add all files and subdirectories to a .ddf file, which you can then pass to makecab.exe /f.
If you execute makeddf.exe without any arguments, it will look in the current working directory and create a .ddf file that has the current directory as filename (i.e. directory.ddf).
It accepts the following Parameters:
/p or /path:
The path which you want to include in the .ddf file. All files and subdirectories of this path will be added to the .ddf. Default: Current Working Directory
/c or /cab
This sets the CabinetNameTemplate inside the ddf file to this value. Use this to specify the name of the cab file makecab.exe will create. Note that this does not have to end with .cab, you're free to choose whatever you want. Default: Current Working Directory + cab (i.e. directory.cab)
/d or /ddf
This specifies the name of the .ddf file this tool will create. Default: Current Working Directory + ddf (i.e. directory.ddf)
/a or /absolute
By default, the .ddf file contains relative path names, which means that the .ddf needs to be put in the base path where the files are, otherwise makecab.exe will not find them. By specifying /a, the filenames will be stored with full path, which means that the .ddf
file can be placed anywhere you want. The disadvantage is that you can not move the directory which contains the files without re-creating the .ddf file
