The Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Reporting Services August CTP Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint® Products allows you to take advantage of new SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services report processing and management capabilities in SharePoint integrated mode. The download provides a Report Viewer Web part, Web application pages, and support for using standard Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Services 2007.

* The ability to connect to SQL Server 2008 R2 Report Serves to take advantage of new report processing and management capabilities in SharePoint integrated mode.
* Improved handling of credentials and shared data sources.
* Utilization of the existing instances of Report Builder configured on the Report Server.

Note: The Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint Technologies requires a SQL Server 2008 R2 (recommended) or SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (SSRS) instance. This add-in is not supported with earlier versions of SSRS. While this version of the add-in supports SQL Server 2008 Report Servers, the main benefits of this version are when connecting to SQL Server 2008 R2 report servers.

* Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2; Windows Server 2008

* 25 MB of available hard disk space is needed for the Add-in.
* Review the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Office SharePoint Services 2007 documentation for relevant system requirements.


The computer must meet the following software requirements:

* Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 or Windows SharePoint Services 2007 with .NET Programmability Support.
* If running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, have the latest service packs (x86 only) installed, and configure the server to run as an Application Server with ASP.NET 2.0 enabled.
* SQL Server 2008 R2 August CTP Reporting Services (recommended) or SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services. (Supported SQL Server editions include Standard, Evaluation, Developer, and Enterprise.)
* Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Office SharePoint Server 2007. The Reporting Services Add-in is not supported on earlier versions of Windows SharePoint Services.
* The Web sites cannot be enabled for Anonymous access.
* Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 with SP2 or later. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 is strongly recommended.
