Home Tracker allows common events or tasks that occur throughout the day to be quickly recorded and easily displayed. There are two primary scenarios for Home Tracker: Coordinating information with your spouse about what tasks/events have been done and when, and creating a chore chart/visual schedule for your child to help keep them on task.
Custom events/tasks can be added and can be structured into workflows such that they occur in a certain order. Touching or clicking on an event/task records the task with the current time and date. Home Tracker works best with a mobile touch device.
Example: Managing a Baby
One of the most critical details when troubleshooting your baby (that is, when trying to figure out why your baby is crying) is information – when was the last time the baby was fed, when was the last time the diaper was changed, when was the last nap, etc. Coordinating this with your spouse can often be challenging.
Home Tracker allows you to create custom events for the things you want to track: diaper changes, feedings, sleeping, waking, clothing changes, baths, etc. Leave Home Tracker running on your touch device and whenever one of these events takes place, touch it. The time of the event will be recorded and displayed. The next time you need to troubleshoot your baby all of that information is readily visible.
When two events occur in sequence Home Tracker can be used to predict how long the interval is between the two events. For example, sleeping occurs before waking, so by setting up these events in sequence, Home Tracker will predict the time at which your baby will wake. In this example Sleeping would be the prerequisite event and Waking would be the dependent event.
Example: Creating a chore chart/visual schedule
It is common for parents to create a chore chart or a visual schedule for their child. The challenging part is to get your child to actually do those tasks without a lot of reminders and then to keep track of which ones your child has actually completed.
Home Tracker allows you to set up the tasks that you want your child to complete. You can also set up an event as a reward that is “locked” until all of the prerequisite events are completed. An event can have multiple prerequisites and any number of events can be chained together. Being able to see the tasks that your child needs to complete and being able to unlock a reward can be a powerful motivator. Our daughter, and I suspect many children, more easily engage with technology than a chore chart taped to the refrigerator.
