GenomeView is a next-generation stand-alone genome browser and editor initiated in the BSB group at VIB and currently developed at Broad Institute.
GenomeView is a next-generation stand-alone genome browser and editor initiated in the BSB group at VIB and currently developed at Broad Institute. It provides interactive visualization of sequences, annotation, multiple alignments, syntenic mappings, short read alignments and more. Many standard file formats are supported and new functionality can be added using a plugin system.
What's New in This Release:В· Support more file formats
В· Support for indexed file formats created by SAMtools (tabix, faidx). This required a redesign of the data handling framework.
В· GenomeView is now also available as Applet and as JComponent for integration in other websites and tools.
В· Simplified GUI significantly
В· Asynchronous data fetching for some data types, this will be expanded on in the future
