Scripting Gallery is a lightweight and easy to use script (written in VBScript) for Photoshop, automating task of preparing images for publication them in (web-)gallery
Based on passing parameters (configured during runtime of the script or defined by user in script source code) the script creates set of images resized to desired dimension (e.g. for making them the same width or height) preserving original aspect ratio, optionally adding watermark (based on specified image source, position and transparency configuration) and creating small thumbnails (for previewing images while watching them in gallery). The output images can be optionally renamed (adding prefix, suffix or counter value) and saved in JPEG format with the desired quality (in range 1-100).
Creation of thumbnails is customizable in the way that allows you to specify offset from the top edge of original picture (if you don't want any faces cut off in previews;) ) and paste the specified image over it to make a fancy frame (say for a better fit into design of your web-page). It's also possible to specify different thumbnail sizes based on aspect ratio of the source image (why you might whant to do that? check out sample in our Quick start guide).
And, finally, it's the power of Photoshop to let you specify the resampling method used for scaling and customize amount of sharpness you might want to apply to your newly resized pictures (both big ones and thumbnails) using Unsharp Mask filter.
System requirements: Microsoft Windows XP or greater, Adobe Photoshop CS2 or greater*
*Photoshop CS5 has difficulties with exporting images using script to folders, path to which contains cyrillic symbols, so it's better not to have non-latin characters in path to your working directory
