The MeteoIO library aims at making data access easy and safe
The MeteoIO library aims at making data access easy and safe for numerical simulations in environmental sciences requiring general meteorological data. MeteoIO's main design goals are:
providing data format/protocol independent data access
providing safe and robust I/O
making I/O code as unobtrusive and simple as possible for the user
providing ready to use data to the user, which means transparent caching, filtering, resampling, spatial interpolation.
enabling unattended use from an IO point of view
offering high modularity so that individual elements of the library can easily be replaced/expanded/added
by its modularity, help interdisciplinary development, each module being targeted at a specific developer profile
MeteoIO is a C++ library provided with complete documentation (tutorials, code examples, API's documentation) under the LGPL v3 license. As such, feel free to contribute! You are also encouraged to drop us a line if you use MeteoIO, this is a great way to support us!

В· fixed a segfault case
В· buffering of grids was leading to massive memory usage. A circular buffer has been implemented that fixes it, therefore dramatically reducing memory consumption and improving speed.
В· the getJulianDayNumber could be totally wrong... this has been fixed
В· the slope calculation in DEMObject was not data compliant, this has been fixed
В· more fixes for type correctness
В· code cleanup, several hacks removed/fixed
В· more VC++ warnings addressed (some have been silenced because they were not legitimate)
В· geotop data reading speed improvements
В· a new SMET library has been developed that does not depend on MeteoIO (even if it is a part of it). It can be used to read/write SMET files in other applications
В· SMET reading has been optimized and is now significantly faster
В· the GSN plugin has been updated to the newest version of the GSN webservice. It works with Linux, Windows and Mac
