Sketch2Go promotes visual exploration of phenomena enabling qualitative indications of the ways that change the line set by the user. The line is a diagrammatic representation which aims to provide the perspective that focuses on principles rather than trivial details / pedestrian of the phenomenon represented. The situations may be referred to extra mathematical (physical, temporal, etc.) Or intra-mathematical (a function with three ends). It is possible to promote a comprehensive understanding of the meaning of the graph rather than simply to graph and find the critical points from attempting to establish functional relationships they describe, and identify priority of mathematics education.
Tools like Sketch2Go Tools like Sketch2Go allow the transfer of algebraic symbols as the only channel of the mathematical representation and encourages experimentation from a given situation, analysis and reflection, even faced with a situation too complicated for the symbolic approach. Sketch2Go is a qualitative graphing tool. Graphs are sketched using seven icons representing constant, increasing and decreasing functions that change at constant, increasing and decreasing. It is based on original R & D developed by Schwartz and Yerushalmy (1995) and Shternberg & Yerushalmy (2001), which proposed a mediating bridge representation based on the function and its vocabulary. The seven graphic icons describe the change in both the function and in its rate of change. Sketch2Go is a version of Qualitative Derivative Grapher programmed by Alexander Zilber for TSC (Technology Education Center).
Mathematical modeling can not be fully implemented this system functions qualitative signs of constant, increasing and decreasing. But the set of seven icons supports the format of the mathematical construction using a language developed to deal with physical scenarios, helping to lay the foundations for teaching pre-calculus and calculus.
