Albatross is a music player to play external(*1) music files. It is suitable for playing few(*2) music files with the order you like. You can play music files in the cloud by WebDAV browser or each cloud's dedicated browser, but they don't seem to be so nice as an audio player.
Albatross can play those music files with somewhat better look-and-feel like an audio device. It also has handy playlist capability. For example, it enables you to make your own Music Box easily.
It has two methods(OpenIn/iTunes file sharing) of importing music files.
1) Being Simple:
There seem to be two types of music players of iOS device. The former type is music players with poor functionalities without fun. The latter type is music players with excessive functionalities and complexity. Albatross is one of solutions to fix these issues by focusing audio device aspect.
2) Rich Visuality:
Albatross has both analog and digital level meters. Every four level meters has three function modes(Level/Peak/Level+Peak) of their own and can be switched their modes separately. Those meters also have color variation. Digital meter with the L.E.D. mode has capability of showing threshold of warning.
3) Handy Playlist Editor:
Built-in Playlist Editor is very simple, it enables you to create your favorite library very quickly.
4) Remote Control:(*3)
Albatross has a capability of sharing music files and playlist. It enables you to play tracks of iOS devices at remote locations by newly modified Playlist. The propagation of Playlist is performed in near real time.
A) Can't play/import iPod Library directly.
B) Can't play DRM music file.
C) Doesn't support streaming play.
D) The iCloud service is functionally great, but it isn't so fast.
You'll surely notice the response reduction while synchronizing too many tunes. On the iOS device with single CPU core, especially, that slowness might be quite serious. On a slow iOS device, there may be the case that you had better to stop using iCloud.
'external' above is meant to be the plain (local non-DRM) music files that are out of iPod Library.
Holding many music files not included in iPod Library doesn't seem to be the right thing.
(*3) Remote Control
Can share music files and playlist with iCloud functionality active. Sharing playlist enables user to play tracks automatically according to a playlist at remote locations. The modifications of tracks and Playlist by Playlist owner will be quickly notified to other iOS devices that are using the same iCloud account.
