iPhoto To Disk For Mac Publisher's description
from Thierry Kondratuk
If your iPhoto library contains thousands of photos and movies organized in hundreds of events
If your iPhoto library contains thousands of photos and movies organized in hundreds of events, retrieving your media files may be a challenging experience. This is where iPhoto To Disk can help.
Whether you need to backup your photos or movies to an external hard drive (in a non-proprietary format and possibly including iPhoto metadata) or just want to export your photos or movies for use in other applications, iPhoto To Disk makes it easy.
*Enhanced browsing experience
With iPhoto To Disk browsing your iPhoto library has never been easier. You can show / hide events for specific years, display the content of several events at the same time, display photos or movies only, outline photos you have edited, and much more.
*Well organized folder hierarchy
You probably don't want the thousands of photos and movies in your library to all be exported to a single folder. Using iPhoto To Disk you can automatically organize your export by "event" or by "year and event" in a hierarchical folder structure.
*Flexible file naming
You can keep your original media file names, but they are most probably meaningless (they typically depend on your camera settings). If you have defined relevant names for your iPhoto events and / or labeled your photos and movies with titles, you can use this information to automatically rename the exported media files.
You can set up filters related to media type and media version. You can thus decide to export photos only, movies only or both. If you have edited some of your photos or if you use a RAW file format, you can decide which version you want to retrieve from your iPhoto library: the current one (i.e. edited), the original one (i.e. not edited or RAW) or both.
*iPhoto metadata support
Did you spend time writing descriptions for your events and photos, labeling your photos, assigning keywords and faces to your photos? Great! Then, with iPhoto To Disk, you can save this valuable information in the exported files. iPhoto To disk uses the IPTC standard which is widely supported by imaging software as well as multimedia hard drives.
*File format conversion
iPhoto To Disk is able to convert your photos to JPEG (with adjustable quality), TIFF or PNG.
