WeatherSnoop For Mac Publisher's description
View and share your wether with the world from your Mac!
WeatherSnoop is an advanced yet easy to use weather data management application for Mac OS X. It connects to your favorite weather station or Internet-based data source to provide you with a rich graphical representation of your weather data, along with numerous data management and sharing features. And it has the look and feel that you expect from a Mac application.
Visualize Your Weather
WeatherSnoop brings your weather data to life right onto your desktop with beautifully rendered gauges and instruments that show weather conditions changing in real time. See the needles move and mercury rise and fall, all in real-time!
Easy to Setup and Configure
The Weather Agent gives you all of the tools you need to collect and share your weather data in a single window. From selecting your station to choosing who sees your data, it’s all within easy reach. Also, helpful logging information is shown so you can see exactly how your station or Internet-based data source is communicating to WeatherSnoop.
Superb Station Support
WeatherSnoop talks to a host of popular weather stations, including the Davis Vantage Pro/Vantage Vue, Peet Brothers ULTIMETER, RainWise MKIIICC-LR, Oregon Scientific WMR100/WMR200/WMR968, LaCrosse WS-2315, Ambient Weather WS-1080/WS-2080, Tycon TP1080WC, iROX Pro-X, and Honeywell TE923. It can even source data from Weather Underground or another Mac running WeatherSnoop. No station required!
WeatherSnoop’s Data Custodian lets you manage your historical weather data easily from a compact SQLite database. Browse data, make changes and edits, and even graph or export your data right on the spot.
With Data Custodian, you can also export some or all of your historical data to a spreadsheet file for additional analysis. Just select the date range and values you want, and voila! You can view the resulting data in Numbers or Excel.
Just The Way You Like It
Change the background image of your Instrument windows to give your weather a personalized touch. WeatherSnoop also remembers where your windows were when it last ran, so your desktop remains organized the way you like it.
Graphing your historical data is easy with WeatherSnoop. Any value can be trended with just a click. You’re in total control. Simply adjust the date range for custom graphs or select from a set of common date ranges for quick and easy graphing of your weather data.
Share Your Data
WeatherSnoop lets you share your weather data with popular Internet-based weather services like Weather Underground and the Citizen Weather Observer Program. Applications can obtain weather data via AppleScript, and you can even have Growl broadcast the current weather conditions right to your desktop for a quick reminder of the weather conditions.
With built-in HTTP server support, you can use your favorite browser to see current weather information. WeatherSnoop even provides the latest weather data via XML, so other systems can easily obtain your data.
Your Very Own Meteorologist
The Weather Report feature provides you an up-to-date summary of your current weather conditions in an easy to read format. Your Mac can even read the report aloud!
WeatherSnoop is built on the foundation of Mac OS X and is a complete Cocoa/Objective-C application. It is tightly integrated with powerful OS X technologies such as Bonjour, Mail and AppleScript to bring you the best weather management experience possible on your Mac.
If you want data gathering and uploading capabilities, but don’t need the graphics, data management or weather reporting features, then consider WeatherSnoop Lite. It has the same great weather station support and works with Weather Underground and CWOP.
