from Kenneth Winkler
RetirePoint is designed to show how much money you will have in retirement, where the money is coming from, and how long it will last.
RetirePoint is designed to show how much money you will have in retirement, where the money is coming from, and how long it will last. Several graphs give a visual overview of your finances. The graphs instantly update whenever you change any of the input values. As a starting point, you input your five main sources of money in retirement - income from Work, Pension, Social Security, Taxable Investments, and Tax-Deferred Investments. You also give your age and expected lifespan, and, if you like, you can tweak the expected interest rate, inflation rate, tax rates, etc.
After you input your financial data, RetirePoint can operate in two different modes. In Auto mode, RetirePoint will calculate the maximum Annual Expenses you can spend so that your money will last for your expected lifetime. In Manual mode, you specify your Annual Expenses, and the graphs will show how long your money will last, and how much will be left for your heirs. Manual mode is especially useful for getting a feel for how various parameters affect the results. Change a parameter and instantly see the effect on your finances.
