Plague is a real-time, top down, rogue-like arena shooter game written in Python/PyGame.

The Story

You are a human fighting for survival in a zombie plague outbreak. Zombies will try to kill humans, and turn them into zombies. You can get ammo from ammo crates and health from medkits. There are other humans, and they will also try to survive - they will pick up ammo and health as necessary and will run from and try to kill zombies. They won't attack you or other humans in the same faction deliberately. They will share ammo and guns, if you or other humans have none.

Here are some key features of "Plague":

· Zoom in and out at anytime to see the level - no mini map required
· Non-predictable procedural level generation
· Vision based on line of sight
· AI for all sentient sims
· Memory based on what was last seen
· 2D physics engine powers object interactions and motion
· Finite element modeling of explosions, fire, etc
· Fire modeling that allows objects to catch on fire and be destroye
· Lots of firearms, concussion and incendiary grenades, Molotov cocktails

What's New in This Release:

· The survivor AI has had a comprehensive rewrite. Survivors now remember the state of the map and utilise this information while they prioritise actions, and they plan their journeys accordingly.

· I have disabled survivor formations and orders for this release (I\'m out of time this weekend). I\'ll add that back in the near future.

· I\'m not convinced the state machine I\'ve designed is the best one possible (I\'m fairly sure there\'s a couple more rewrites from me as I gain more experience/need more performance). If anyone has experience with writing state machines or planning state managers and wants to help out with designing and/or coding, I\'d love to hear from you.
