Metroid Petroid Publisher's description
from Branden Brown
A simple arcade game
Metroid Petroid is an arcade game written in Python and PyGame.
I guess this is really more of an inside joke than anything... Right click exits. See if you can unlock unlimited size. I'm not telling how to do it, though. Rect collision detection was always returning 1 for some reason, so I had to write my own collision detection routines. Because I didn't feel like testing every point in each rect for collision, the Petroid only detects collisions at its 4 corners.
What's New in This Release:В· More music added: "Metroid II: Return of Samus Early Loop" ripped from Metroid II, "Metroid Brinstar Loop" ripped from Metroid, both ripped by RetroX.
В· Added Psyco support (I think/hope).
В· Added exception logging (a file of name _.log, i.e. win32_1243494024.log, should appear in either data or where the game was run from if there's an exception).
В· Added indicator for unlimited size mode (using Shadow from Ian Mallett (geometrian)'s PAdLib 5.0.0).
В· Added size counter for unlimited size mode (my first use of pygame.font :D).
В· Added backgrounds (grabs *.gif and *.png in datags, included images were all ripped from Metroid Zero Mission by me).
В· Added caption and icon (or did I have that in 1.5?).
В· Added screenshot function (will save .bmp to datascreens, i.e. 1243494024.bmp, on middle-click).
В· Changed Petroid seek point from its upper-left corner to its center (slight control improvement).
System Requirements:В· Python
