This package installs an updated version of the Microsoft Windows XP device driver for the onboard ADI SoundMAX audio that comes preinstalled in your computer.
This update requires approximately 28MB of space on your hard drive.
Supported systems
This package has been approved for use with the following systems:
* ThinkCentre M58 (type 6139, 6175, 6239, 6258, 6302, 6303, 7174, 7187, 7244, 7354, 7348, 7355, 7359, 7360, 7373, 7626, 7627, 7628, 7637, 7638, 7639, 8820, 8910, 9960)
* ThinkCentre M58p (type 6136, 6137, 6138, 6209, 6234, 7220, 7188, 7345, 7346, 7347, 7356, 7357, 7358, 7483, 7484, 7479, 7629, 7630, 7635, 8336, 8338, 9961, 9964, 9965)
Note:
* On Windows XP (version before SP3) and early version of 2003, you need to install a QFE to allow a HD Audio driver installation. This QFE is made available by Microsoft and it is required to update Operating System components before installing the audio driver. The QFE contains the required files and a readme file which outlines installation procedure. This QFE and these files are distributed by Microsoft only, please contact them directly if you need to get them.
* Microsoft DirectX 9.0 or later is required.
Downloading the package
1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.
Extracting the package
1. Click Start, select Search, then click All files and folders.
2. Type q4aud33us13.exe in the search field, then click Search. This will locate the file you just downloaded.
3. Double-click the q4aud33us13.exe icon.
4. Click Next. Read the license agreement.
5. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
6. Click Next.
7. Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to C:SWTOOLSDRIVERSAUDIOq4aud33us13.
8. Click Next.
9. Click Finish.
Installing the package
1. Close all open applications.
2. Click Start, then click Run.
3. Type C:SWTOOLSDRIVERSAUDIOq4aud33us13Setup.exe, then click OK.
4. Follow the onscreen prompts and choose to reboot at the end of installation.
